Eric Grounds
The principal of the business is Eric Grounds.
He has worked in the Voluntary Sector for the past 33 years. He was Director of Fundraising and International Development at Sue Ryder Care (2005-2010). The International Development portfolio involved active engagement with many of the countries of the former Eastern Bloc, as well as Italy, Ireland and Malawi. He was Director of National Appeals at Marie Curie Cancer Care (1996-1999). His consultancy experience includes both paid and pro bono guidance to more than 300 charities covering almost every field of human endeavour. In 2014 he enjoyed six months as Interim Director of Income Generation at Crohn's and Colitis UK.
He currently mentors one Chief Executive, several Directors of Fundraising and a number of community and corporate fundraisers. He is also one of the Institute of Fundraising professional trainers and has delivered extensive training for the Heritage Alliance.
He was a trustee of the Tutu Foundation (UK) from 2010 until March 2014, and a trustee of the Northumberland Scout Trust from 1989 - 2012. Today he is a trustee of Mast Cell Action Syndrome and of the Paxton House Trust.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising and was one of only 32 CFREs in the United Kingdom until January 2020
His hobby is writing books. Recent publications include The Bedside Book of Final Words, and 'Will to Win,' a tale about Irish terrorism
